Standardization and Control
Choose the programs and initial conditions for the company culture and eliminate multiple ways to do the same thing.

For example, make one brand of word processor the company standard instead of allowing multiple brands of word processors in the company.

Minimize the number of different systems to minimize costs.

Control the process by not allowing the installation of programs unless approved by you.

Eliminate complicated procedures.

Example: Validated systems in the pharmaceutical industry utilize strict process control by storing the software necessary to create the system as well as the steps used to load that software. Therefore, one can re-create any given validated system should failure occur and always get predictable outcome from that system. Use that same methodology in your business, and you’ll never spend precious time troubleshooting problems.
