Triangle Open Source Lab Launches Web Site

Raleigh, NC, April 30, 2007 - Jim Ray, president of Neuse River Networks, announces the launch of a new web site, www.triangleopensource.org. Triangle Open Source is a Linux lab, which allows people who are not familiar with Linux or the Open Source applications that run on Linux to use them. Several other groups, such as Triangle Linux Users Group at www.trilug.org, are Linux advocacy groups. In contrast, Triangle Open Source is only a lab, with the aim of instructing those who are not familiar with Linux in how to use it.

Linux/Open Source and the current commercial software have many similarities and differences, and these differences are what impede the progress of Open Source in the market. Most users can quickly learn to do almost anything with Linux/Open Source that they could do with commercial software.

Potential users are encouraged to register on the web site, and sign up on the email list to get involved. The next meeting is May, 2007. Meetings are, until further notice, invitation only - registration is required to attend.
