Every now and then you run across one of those
system glitches that no one, and I mean no one, seems to be able
to fix. That was my dilemma. As a poet/writer, I compose a great
deal of my work at the computer and thought I was doing the right
thing by transferring documents onto my external hard drive. Not
being as computer savvy as I should be, I ended up will ALL of
my original work in that one place confident that everything was
safe and secure. Not so.
As I was attempting to retrieve one of the
documents I had stored there, I began getting those dreaded messages
you don't ever want to see: "Error
. Unable to read
Corrupt files
Reformatting will cause you to lose data,
etc. I didn't know what to do. Books, speeches, work I couldn't
even begin to think about recreating was about to be lost forever.
I began searching for someone who would be able to help and the
responses to my queries were always disappointing, until I found
Jim Ray.
While his first attempts were unsuccessful,
he refused to give up. He kept me informed on what he was trying
to do and I became more encouraged that if anyone could solve
my problem it would be Jim. I was right. One day he delivered
a CD with all of my documents in tact! I can't begin to tell you
how excited, and grateful I was to receive my work.
He became my IT Miracle Man.
Needless to say, I would highly recommend him
for any systems solution, great or small. Jim has been professional,
diligent, a pleasure to work with, and I will be forever grateful.
